Shine On is the third live album released by the American heavy metal band Riot. The material for the album was recorded during the band's 1998 Japan Tour, a country where Riot has consistently maintained a large and dedicated fanbase.
The album was first released in Japan on October 6, 1998, by Zero Corporation, and shortly thereafter in the United States by Metal Blade Records. It captures the band's lineup from their Inishmore era, featuring vocalist Mike DiMeo, guitarists Mark Reale and Mike Flyntz, bassist Pete Perez, and drummer Bobby Jarzombek.

Liner notes by Mike Flyntz
1998 was very busy year for Riot. With te Return of Bobby Jarzombek we realesed Inishmore. A Mark Reale materpiece. We then embraked on an extensive Japan Tou that tooks us to many wonderful cites that Riot has never performed. We followed Japan with a 7 week tour of Eurpe that was highlighted with an overwhelming reception at the Wacken festival in Germnay. We also played Greece for the first time and had one of our best shows to date. Truly a year to remember.
Mark decided to have our studio engineer (Paul Orofino) come along on the Japan tour. Besides running sound(front house), Paul brought along a DAT machine to record all the shows. These recordings went on to become our live album 'Shine On'. Paul and Mark sat in the studio at Millbrook Sound studios and picked the best performances song. The album was realesed later that year in 1998.
Club Citta has a special place in heart. So do my Club Citta T shirts. MOst of the live record was from our performance at thsi legendary venue. We toured there previously in 1994 and 1996. The crowd was overly enthusiastic that night and the band soaked up thier energy. It was magical night that i wll never forget... We were shocked to learn that when we returned to Club Citta in 2009 afger 11 year absence the club was relocated adn an exact replica built.
